Låt kreativiteten flöda och förvandla vanlig chirashi sushi till ett mästerverk med hjälp av detta enkla recept på formad chirashi sushi till Hinamatsuri (den japanska dockfestivalen). Detta är en annorlunda variation på en japansk favorit, där chirashi sushins signaturfärger och smaker finns kvar, medan man formar sushin till dekorativa blommor, perfekta att servera som en sidorätt eller snacks under Hinamatsuri eller andra speciella tillfällen.

Ingredienser

cooked rice
chirashi sushi mix
kinshi tamago (thinly sliced egg omelette)
ikura (salmon roe)
sakura denbu (pink seasoned ground fish)
cucumber slices

Så här gör du

  1. Prepare the sushi rice by mixing the chirashi sushi mix and cooked rice according to the package.
  2. Once the rice is ready, get a rice mould (preferable a flower-shaped mould if possible) and fill it with the rice. Press the rice firmly so that it fills in the shape of the mould.
  3. Turn out the rice from the mould. Take extra care not to damage the shape of the rice.
  4. Decorate the rice with some toppings such as egg omelette strips, sakura denbu (if available), smoked salmon, salmon eggs and sliced cucumber. Enjoy.

Tips och information

- If sakura denbu is not available, you can use boiled cod fillets, roughly 2, and then pulse them in a food processor. Then in a frying pan place the processed cod, and 1 tablespoon of mirin and cooking sake, and a little salt. Add some red food colouring and cook until all the water has evaporated from the boiled cod and it becomes nice and fluffy. Then add about 30g of sugar to give it that authentic sakura denbu taste.
