Background

Curries and stews are a dinnertime favourite in Japan. How To Use

• Slice 350g onions and 220g meat of your choice (beef or pork would be particularly tasty)
• Add 1tbsp cooking oil to a large saucepan. Add onions and meat, cooking until lightly browned.
• Add 400ml water and bring to the boil. Reduce heat, cover, and cook over a medium heat for approx. 20 minutes.
• Remove from heat. Divide 4 blocks of curry roux (half a box) into 4 and add to saucepan. Stir through until melted and return the pot to the heat. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
• Serve over hot rice or noodles.
