Gift Orders

We know that sharing Japan with people can be a lovely experience, that's why we love it when customer place gift orders. We have a couple of options for gift orders available for our customers, as well as some notes.

Receipts and Gift Messages in Orders

During checkout on the delivery address selection page, at the bottom you can select whether you would like for us to remove any receipts from your order, or whether you would like to include a gift message (for a £1 charge) in your order. If you add the gift message to your order, we will include your personal message on a small card inside to let your special someone know how you feel. Please note that we do not accept any vulgar language in gift messages, and your message may be amended if anything offensive is entered.

Furoshiki Gift Wrap Service

To add an additional touch of Japanese elegance, we also offer a furoshiki gift wrap service for select products. One of our packing team members will expertly wrap your selected item in a traditional Japanese furoshiki cloth. Your recipient can then use the cloth again for daily-use or to wrap gifts for others. We include a handy guide on how to wrap furoshiki, so you or your recipient will be able to impress friends. For applicable products, please visit our furoshiki gift wrap page. To find out more about furoshiki, visit our inspiration page.

To add the furoshiki gift wrap, go through the online checkout process as normal. Once you reach the Order Confirmation page, a furoshiki gift wrap option will appear next to all applicable items.

How Your Order Will Arrive

We pack all of our orders in plain brown cardboard boxes, so there is nothing on the exterior that would ruin the surprise. There are a couple of notes that we would like all of our customers to know so that your gift reaches your intended recipient.

● When placing your order, the email address on your account and the phone number on the delivery address will be passed onto the courier as contact details. If you do not want the courier to contact the recipient, then please include your phone number in these spaces for the delivery address. Also, no information in your billing address will show on the parcel.
● We recommend at least letting your recipient know that you have sent them something, or to expect a delivery. You do not need to say where it is from or what it is, but some recipients have refused parcels in the past since they were not expecting anything.
● For gift orders with age-restricted items, the recipient will need to sign and show confirmation of ID on delivery. We will also ask for the buyer's ID before dispatch to ensure no restricted items fall in the hands of those underage.
