Udon noodles are thick white noodles made from wheat and noted for their fine, palatable and smooth taste. With added salt and water and the absence of egg, udon are generally whiter and softer in texture than other noodles.


Cook dried udon noodles in a similar way to spaghetti.
• Add the udon noodles to a pan of boiling water, use about 1l per 100g of noodles.
• Allow to cook for approximately 8-10 minutes or until soft.
• Serve in a bowl of noodle soup with meat and vegetables or add to a stirfry to make yaki udon.
