Sushi vinegar can also be called seasoned rice vinegar and is an important part of making sushi. Vinegar was originally added to rice as a way to help preserve the fish before refrigeration. Although not necessary anymore, the tradition has stuck and the rice vinegar is now more for flavour.


To make sushi rice.
• Cook your Japanese rice as per our instructions.
• Once the rice is cooked, add to a large bowl.
• While the rice is cooling, add one tablespoon of sushi vinegar to every one cup of cooked rice.
• Fold the vinegar in until the rice has fully cooled. Your rice is now ready to make sushi!
