Oden is a type of Japanese stew made with fish cakes, boiled
eggs, daikon radish, konnyaku (yam cake) and more. These various ingredients
are simmered in a prepared stock broth for several hours.
Japanese families often cook oden communally, using a large pot in the centre of the table. For more easy sauces to use in Japanese cooking, take a look at Japan Centre's Ready Made Sauces section.
