背景

Japanese curry was introduced to Japan from the British during the Meiji era of the 1800’s and has now become a popular dinner dish, as well as a favourite in family restaurants and special curry houses. Markedly different to Indian curries, Japanese curry has a slightly sweet flavour and tends to be enjoyed with chicken or pork pieces, or chicken or pork fried katsu cutlets.

使い方

• Preheat 2 tbsp oil in a large pot over a medium heat. Add 500g cubed meat, two sliced onions, two cubed potatoes and one sliced carrot. Cook well.
• Add 1.3L water and allow everything to simmer over a low-medium heat for approx. 15 mins.
• Remove pot from heat. Break curry sauce mix and add to the pot. Stir until it is all blended.
• Put pot back onto a low heat and simmer for approx. 10 mins. Serve over cooked rice or pasta. Serves 9.
