A stunningly bold, fragrant sake, made with the historic kimoto method.

With a glass of Sudo Honke's premium nama chozo sake, you can celebrate the purest example of high-quality sake and the long, rich history of the national drink of Japan too. Made from Kamenoo-Koshihikari rice milled to 40% of its original size, this sake has been fermented with the slower kimoto method, which takes twice as long but leaves stronger strains of yeast to brew alcohol and produce more complex aromas and flavours. As a nama chozo sake, it has also only been pasteurised once for a fresher flavour. Enjoy this full-bodied, satisfyingly round and complex sake chilled, at room temperature or warmed to 40°C, paired with richly seasoned and spicy foods.

Plus d'infos

Tucked away within a lush garden of Zelkova trees, Sudo honke, 'the brewery in the woods', are a family-owned sake producer dedicated to their motto: 'sake, rice, soil, water, trees'. The best sake comes from high-quality rice, high-quality rice grows from well-nourished soil, well-nourished soil is fed with nutrient-rich water and nutrient-rich water depends on the care of surrounding trees. This, their generations of experience and their careful following of traditional brewing methods is the backstory behind every one of their premium junmai daiginjo and ginjo sake, esteemed across Japan and the world, including sommeliers and the International Wine Challenge in London, having received several rewards.
