Bring together favourite Japanese and Italian street foods with this delicious okonomiyaki pizza recipe. Exactly as it sounds, this dish consists of all your favourite okonomiyaki fillings and toppings (cabbage, onion, bacon, bonito flakes, okonomiyaki sauce, etc.) on a crunchy pizza base. If you are an okonomiyaki fan, this variation is a must-try.


• 1 ready-made pizza base (approx. 23cm across)
• 3 rashers of bacon
• 2 cabbage leaves
• 2 spring onions
• okonomiyaki sauce
• melty cheese
• 2 tbsp tempura flakes
• bonito flakes
• aonori seaweed
• japanese mayonnaise

How To Prepare

  1. Finely chop your cabbage and spring onions, then slice the bacon into bite sized pieces. Brush the top of your pizza with okonomiyaki sauce, then top with the cabbage, bacon, spring onion, melty cheese and a good squirt of Japanese mayonnaise.

  2. Cook the pizza for around 15-18 minutes for anyone using their own home-made batter or according to the instructions for pre-made bases.

  3. Garnish with okonomiyaki or brown sauce, tempura flakes, bonito flakes and aonori seaweed. Enjoy.
