If you are looking for something to revitalise your tired tastebuds, add a yuzu twist to traditional somen noodles with this recipe. A combination of somen noodles infused with refreshing yuzu citrus, savoury tsuyu dipping sauce and crunchy takuan pickles on the side, these somen are delicious. Best enjoyed in the middle of a hot summer day.


• yuzu takuan pickle
• yuzu somen noodles
• tsuyu dipping sauce
• grated ginger
• 1 chopped spring onion
• sesame seeds

How To Prepare

  1. Begin by chopping up your spring onion and takuan pickle into bite sized pieces, and prepare any other garnishes or sides you’re going to enjoy with your somen.

  2. Bring a pan filled with plenty of water to the boil, add the somen noodles.

  3. Cook the noodles for 2 minutes, then drain the noodles and rinse under cold water, before draining again.

  4. Pour your tsuyu dipping sauce into a bowl, serve the noodles separately, with garnishes on the side. Enjoy.
