Fluffy, soft and full of flavour, make your very own Japanese steamed BBQ pork buns for an unforgettable lunchtime snack. Using our sister restaurant Shoryu Ramen's DIY Kit, you can make them restaurant-quality too!

Ingredients

1 Shoryu DIY Kit - BBQ Pork Buns

Shoryu DIY Kit Includes:

4 Hirata Buns
Char Siu BBQ Pork Belly
Lettuce
Cucumber
QP Mayonnaise
Spicy Buns Sauce

How To Prepare

  1. Slice the char siu bbq pork belly into 4 slices. In a non-stick frying pan, gently brown each side of the sliced char siu.

  2. While grilling the char siu, slice the cucumbers.

  3. Steam the buns for approx. 5 minutes. If you are using a steamer, bring a pan of water to boil and place parchment paper to the bottom of your steamer and then place the buns on top. Put the steamer on top of the pan and add the lid. Ensure there is space between the water and bottom of the steamer. 

    If you are steaming your buns with a sieve, repeat as above but use a sieve instead of a steamer. Make sure the  water doesn't touch the bottom of the sieve and the lid doesn't touch the buns!

  4. Place the lettuce, cucumber and char siu inside the bun and top with spicy sauce and QP mayonnaise.
