Delicious, easy to prepare, and good for you to boot! Yutaka’s wakame seaweed is packed full of natural umami, making it an ideal both as a garnish for miso and other soups, and as part of a seaweed salad. Carefully dried in order to preserve its natural flavour and nutritional benefits, all you have to do to make this wakame good to eat is soak it in water.

ITEM ID: #7140

Seaweed is among the most commonly consumed types of vegetable in Japanese cuisine, which is hardly surprising given how close most Japanese people live to the sea. Seaweed is a fantastic natural source of umami flavour, and as such it is frequently used in Japanese cooking as a soup or flavour base, as an ingredient, and as a garnish. Take a look at Japan Centre Online’s seaweed section for a great range of Japanese seaweeds.

How To Use

Soak the wakame in plenty of cold water for 10 minutes or hot water for 3 minutes. The wakame will increase in volume by 3 times. Once ready, season as you like and enjoy!
