Background

Yakisoba (which literally means 'fried noodles'), is a summertime festival favourite in Japan, both because of its delicious umami-rich flavour and because it is relatively easy to prepare large batches of it on big barbecues. An authentic yakisoba requires noodles, cabbage, carrot, pork, yakisoba sauce, and heaps of tasty garnishes. How To Use

• Open lid from Point 1 (marked on lid) to Line 2. Remove sauce, mayonnaise, and garnish sachets.
• Add boiling water until the noodles are covered. Replace lid and wait three minutes.
• Open outer lid at Point 3 to reveal strainer. Carefully drain excess water.
• Remove lid entirely. Stir in yakisoba sauce and mayonnaise. Sprinkle garnish on top.
