Shiratama ko is a powder made of sweet mochi rice that has been rinsed, soaked, crushed and dried to make a key ingredient for Japanese baking. Think of it as a sort of ‘instant mochi’. Mochi is used in Japanese cooking as an ingredient in a variety of traditional Japanese dishes, particularly desserts. Why not try some tempting mochi recipes?

How To Use

Some suggestions for using your Shirotama Rice Flour:
• Mix 200g sweet rice flour with 180ml water until soft, roll into balls and boil for approx 1-2 minutes before cooling for easy shiratama dango.
• Mix 200g sweet rice flour with 4 tbsp sugar and 240ml water before microwaving in a cling film covered container for 2-3 mins. Mix and heat again for 1-2 mins to make a soft dough for Japanese sweets.
