Delicious white rice from Hokkaido

Enjoy some of the finest produce Hokkaido has to offer with this 5kg bag of Nanatsuboshi rice. Classified as Grade A in flavour, the hearty crop from which this rice comes gets to take advantage of the long summer days and copious clear water supply of Hokkaido, while being resistant to Hokkaido's cold climate. Try some with your Japanese meals, or wrap into some sushi or onigiri, and taste the difference for yourself.

Rice is the dietary staple of Japan. Like how many people in Western countries cannot imagine going without bread for very long, the vast majority of Japanese people will eat at least some rice every day. Japanese, or Japonica, rice is grown all over Japan and in other countries, and the accepted wisdom is that the rice will taste different depending on where it is grown. For an incredible range of Japanese rice, take a look at Japan Centre's Rice section.

High quality rice.
Good flavour – worth the price. I don't use it in dishes like kimchi fried rice where other flavours completely overpower it, but in meals where it's served plain, you can taste the difference.
expensve but good

I’m so happy to have this Japanese rice, it’s a staple in my diet. Although not used it yet, I’m looking forward to it.
