This red bottle of Japanese plum wine, or ‘umeshu’ contains large, whole ume plums and is a good quality, popular umeshu in Japan. It is made from green ume plums and a liquor called shochu. This variety is made wih extra red shiso leaves for an added herby, citrusy flavour!

Japanese liqueur is usually distilled from the Japanese plum, or ‘ume’. This plum is the same plum used in Japanese pickles and also in stocks and marinades. Umeshu is a Japanese plum wine and is lightly sweet and sour and said to be good for health.

How To Use

This delicious drink is fantastic as either an aperitif or digestif.
