Background

Matcha is made by grinding high quality tea leaves, called tencha. This offers great health benefits as you actually consume the tea leaf, rather than just an infusion of the tea leaves. Rich in antioxidants research has shown matcha can boost metabolism and help reduce cholesterol levels so is great as part of a healthy diet.

How To Use

Matcha can be drunk as tea or used in cooking:
• Usucha, or thin tea, is prepared with 1.75g of matcha and 75ml of hot water. Use a bamboo whisk to create froth as desired.
• Koicha, or thick tea used in the Tea Ceremony, is prepared with 3.75g of matcha and 40ml of hot water, stir rather than whisk.
• Use to make matcha lattes, milkshakes, smoothies or iced tea.
• Add to baking recipes, such as matcha cookies, brownies, cupcakes, bread and ice-cream.
• Mix with salt as a traditional dipping seasoning for tempura.

I use the product to make Matcha in the way I was shown in Japan - the only way to have a satisfying drink. Use the traditional and correct utensils for the best experience. I believe it is one of the healthiest drinks you could make.

Great taste. Cheaper than the Chiro no Shiro tea, but I like it just as much.

I began to like this during a recent visit to Japan. I drink it around twice per day and it reminds me of the fantastic time I had there and also because several health enhancing properties were explained to me.

I've just received my Aoarashi Matcha and can't say anything bad. I'm not a pro in matcha, I wouldn't be able to distinguish different types of it, but everything looks/tastes good to me.\nThe tin is airtight and it's actually quite tiny (which I don't mind at all, I think it's really cool) and looks lovely as well. \nI'm personally willing to repurchase it.
