A noodle-tastic cool down.

To make light, satisfying noodle dishes that can be enjoyed during even the very hottest of summer days, Sanuki Shisei's somen are ideal. Similar in texture to angel hair or other types of thinner pasta, these somen noodles are most commonly enjoyed cold during warmer weather. Serve with chilled tsuyu dipping sauce and side dishes of wasabi and spring onions.

Somen are perhaps not quite as well-known among non-Japanese folks as the likes of soba, udon and ramen. But rest assured they are no less delicious. Somen noodles are round, super thin, and normally served cold on a bamboo tray or on top of a bed of ice with tsuyu dipping sauce and assorted garnishes. For more somen and other lesser-known varieties of Japanese noodle, check out Japan Centre's Speciality Noodles range.

How To Use

• Add noodles to 1l boiling water per 100g.
• Cook for 2-3 mins., then drain and wash in cold water.
• Serve with green onions and cold tsuyu sauce for the summer, or hot dashi broth for the winter.

It is not as good as Ibonoito, which is by far more expensive than this.
I haven't tried them all but they all look/taste good. I use when cooking from my Wagamama cookbook.
