Azuki red beans are often eaten in a hot soup with mochi rice cakes in Japan during the winter months as a filling snack or end to a meal. The most popular types of soup are called oshiruko and zenzai and are often served in tranquil traditional tearooms.

How To Use

Whatever the season, koshian is delicious!
• Spring: Try Kashiwa Mochi or Strawberry Daifuku Mochi
• Summer: Try koshian red bean paste with ice cream or chilled jelly
• Autumn & Winter: Enjoy red bean koshian as a filling for Dorayaki Pancakes or Taiyaki Cakes. For winter, warm up with a toasty bowl of Sweet Red Bean Soup
