Fresh, herby flavour for your rice balls.

Give your rice bucketloads of mouthwatering flavour with Tanaka's series of mix-in furikake rice seasonings. This Spring Green, Plum and Perilla flavour combines the refreshing taste of spring greens, the sour kick of umeboshi plums, and the fresh herby aroma of perilla to make a complex seasoning ideal for mixing into onigiri rice balls or topping chazuke rice soups.

ITEM ID: #4615

Background

Furikake rice seasoning is normally dried, crunchy granules of vegetables, meats, seeds, and other flavoursome foods. The intense savoury/umami flavours of furikake make it ideal for sprinkling over foods with plain flavours. In Japan furikake is normally sprinkled over rice, but it will often also be used on pasta or plain toast. Explore Japan Centre's entire range of furikake in our Rice Seasoning section.

How To Use

Furikake is a versatile product, here a few common uses.
• Mix a large spoonful into approx. 150g of cooked rice.
• Sprinkle on top of rice for a splash of flavour and colour.
• If you’re patient enough you can also use furikake as an ingredient in creating your own pickles.
