Add rich umami flavour to your cooking with yamashin's top quality white soy sauce-based soup stock. Made by combining white soy sauce with umami-rich ingredients like bonito and mackerel fish flakes, dried sardines, and kombu kelp seaweed extract, this dashi tsuyu soup base will give your dishes all of the quintessential Japanese flavour they will need. As this tsuyu is made with white soy sauce, it is also paler in colour to most tsuyu and therefore more suitable for kaiseki ryori and other appearance-based cuisine.

Tsuyu is one of the most handy ingredients to have in any Japanese pantry, as it is essentially three of the most important seasonings in Japanese cuisine rolled into one. A combination of dashi for umami, soy sauce for saltiness (and a little extra umami), and mirin rice wine for sweetness, a bottle of tsuyu is often all you need to bring Japanese flavour to a wide variety of dishes. How To Use

• Add a ratio 1:15 parts stock to water for consomme, clear broths and Chinese-style soups.
• Add a ratio 1:10 parts stock to water for noodle dipping sauces and savoury egg custard.
• Add a ratio 1:7~14 parts stock to water for boiled foods and stews.
