ITEM ID: #12863

Abura Age is a traditional Japanese food that is made from tofu, which has been deep fried in two stages at two different temperatures. It often appears in miso soup, is the main ingredient for making inarizushi and is also the featured ingredient that gives kitsune udon (fox udon) its name. Naming it ‘kitsune’ derives from the old Japanese legend that foxes have an appetite for deep-fried tofu of course. So versatile, love the texture. Super healthy
Must-have for miso soup and stir-fry dishes.
Versatile in the kitchen and tasty..
I love adding this to miso soup
I used this to make kitsune udon and it was delicious. Product was of high quality. My only regret is that I didn't order more!
Very good
out of date
Really good quality product. So tasty , wish I had brought more . Was wondering if I could freeze it ? Not sure it wasn’t previously frozen , so probably wouldn’t be suitable for home freezing. Maybe could be sold frozen ? Couldn’t find any frozen online.
Excellent products!
Very nice in miso soup.
good. but has to be used immediately when received, which is a shame. instructions on the back were very helpful for a first timer.
Cut it half to open it up. Put a variety of things before either grilling it or cooking it. When cheese is used, grilling is always enjoyed by non-** friends.
Used in Hijiki no nimono dish. Essential item for giving the dish flavour and texture. Happy with it.
You have two kinds of Abura-age. I have not used this yet this time but as far as I remember, the taste is the same, i.e. authentic. The only issue was that it did not open easily to create a pocket to make Fukuro-ni.
I like the one thicker but there are not available. \nI use it in Miso soup, mixed rice and fried vegetable .
