Wrap up gifts, set the table, or tie boxes together with this furoshiki cloth. Made from 100% cotton, the design of this furoshiki features a navy background with columns of red and cream coloured, stylised hiragana characters, separated by red and cream stripes. Furoshiki measures approx. 50cm in width, 50cm in length. Made in Japan.

Furoshiki have existed in Japan since the Nara period (AD 710-794), when visitors to public bath houses would wrap their clothes in large cloths so as to not get them mixed up with anybody else's. Nowadays furoshiki have a multitude of uses, the most common of which being to wrap up gifts, to hold together bento boxes, to transport clothes and bottles, or to create a makeshift carry bag.
