Tasty noodles served cold.

Enjoy Japanese noodle dishes that will cool you down in the summer with Shintsurumen's somen. Made using quality Nissin wheat flour with just a touch of salt, these somen noodles are long and thin in appearance and slippery in texture. Try serving these noodles cold over a bed of ice, with tsuyu dipping sauce and other assorted garnishes.

ITEM ID: #11387

Background

One of the lesser-known varieties of Japanese noodle, somen are long and very thin wheat noodles that are most notorious for how little time they take to prepare. They are commonly served cold with tsuyu dipping sauce and assorted garnishes, but they are also excellent for hot noodle soups. For a fantastic range of dried, pre-cooked, and instant noodles, take a look at japancentre.com's Noodles section.

How To Use

• Add noodles to a large saucepan with plenty of water (3L is normally ideal). Push the noodles in as they often, until completely submerged.
• Allow noodles to cook for 3-4 minutes (to the desired softness).
• Drain noodles and cool by rinsing with cold water.
• Serve with tsuyu dipping sauce and your preferred garnishes.
