A refreshing Japanese favourite.

Warm up in the cold months and cool down in the hot months with SKK's black bean mugicha barley tea. Delicious and invigorating, this caffeine-free tea is made from a blend of Japan-grown roasted barley and roasted, non-GM black beans. With a strong, toasty fragrance and rejuvenating flavour, this tea is delicious enjoyed hot or cold.

ITEM ID: #11094

Background

Despite being referred to as a 'tea', mugicha does not contain any tea leaves. It is instead an infusion of roasted barley that is normally drunk cold in Japan during the warmer summer months, making it a healthier alternative to refreshing soft drinks and other sugary beverages. Take a look at japancentre.com's Tea section for a wide range of teas that can be enjoyed hot or cold.

How To Use

• To make hot tea, add one tea bag to a kettle of boiling water. Allow to infuse for 3 minutes before serving.
• To make cold tea, add one tea bag to 1L water and allow it to chill in the fridge for 1 hour before serving.

This is a great quality tea which I brew with hot water and drink after it has cooled. It has a pleasant, roasted flavour and I would definitely recommend it.
