Made with 100% wetland-grown rice from Japan, these mochi rice cakes are perfect for grilling in an oven or oven toaster and topping with butter and soy sauce, boiling for a few minutes and using to bulk up soups, microwaving until soft and enjoying with sweet azuki red beans or natto fermented soy beans, or deep-frying for 1-2 minutes (until crisp) and covering with kinako flour.

Mochi is made from sweet, glutinous rice that has been soaked, steamed, and pounded into a thick, chewy paste. It is then allowed to dry until firm enough to mould into the small circular pieces available at Mochi can be grilled, pan-fried or boiled, and once it is cooked it becomes soft, chewy, and ready to enjoy.
