This pack contains a medium-hot (spicy, but not too hot) mix of thirty one different spices and seasonings all combined into an easily dissolvable powder that carries the hearty flavour of Japanese style curry. Use this curry roux to make a classic curry sauce, or add to rice or noodle dishes for a unique flavour.

Curry was introduced to Japan by the British during the Meiji era of the 1800’s. Since then, it has evolved within Japan, taken on a unique flavour of its own (milder and a little sweeter than most Indian varieties), and become one of the most commonly utilised flavours in Japanese cuisine. As well as being used in curries themselves, curry is also used to flavour rice, noodles, crackers, filled buns, and other savoury delicacies. How To Use

• Cut up 150g protein (beef, pork, chicken, tofu), 300g onion, 1 small potato and 1/2 carrot into bite-size pieces. Heat up a little oil in a large frying pan, add chopped ingredients and fry for approx. 5 minutes.
• Add 550ml water, bring the heat down to low-medium, and let simmer until meat and vegetables soften (approx. 15 min)
• Remove pan from heat, add 100g curry roux and stir through. Return to a low heat and cook, stirring, until sauce thickens (approx. 5 min). Serves 5.
