Is it safe to order on the Japan Centre Fresh website?
Yes. Our payments are handled by Braintree (our chosen payment processor) to ensure maximum security. No credit card information is stored on the Japan Centre website itself. The Braintree payment gateway processes payments for thousands of online businesses. It is Braintree's utmost priority to ensure that transaction data is handled in a safe and secure way. Once on the Braintree systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards.

How do I cancel my subscription?
To cancel your subscription before your first delivery, please call us on 020 3405 1151 or email enquiry@japancentre.com. To cancel your subscription after your first delivery, login to your japancentre.com/fresh account and select ‘Subscriptions’. Select the subscription you wish to cancel and click ‘Stop’.
What is the deadline for ordering my subscription?
The deadline for ordering subscriptions is Thursday 11:59pm for delivery on the following week.
Can I make changes to my subscription once placed?
Once a subscription order has been placed, changes (including address changes and changes to payment details) cannot be made. If any changes are required, the subscription should be cancelled and another one placed with the desired changes.
How do I know if my subscription was placed successfully?
If your subscription is successful, you will receive an automated email to confirm your subscription has been received. If you think you have placed a subscription, but have not received any emails from us, please call or email us to confirm we have received your subscription
When will I know that my recipe box has been dispatched?
We will send you an email confirming dispatch of your recipe box on the day that your box leaves our distribution centre. The email will let you know the address to which your box has been sent.
Where does Japan Centre Fresh deliver?
Japan Centre Fresh currently delivers to the UK Mainland only. This excludes the Channel Islands, Northern Irelands, and the Scottish Highlands and Isles.
When will my recipe box be delivered?
Your recipe box will be delivered on the selected date that you choose when placing your subscription. We dispatch all recipe boxes for delivery before 12pm the day after dispatch.
What if I am not in to accept my delivery?
We recommend you select a delivery date during which you will be in to receive your recipe box. However, we understand that this is not always possible. If no one is going to be in to receive deliveries, a safe place must be designated when you place your order. If no safe place is designated and no one is present for the delivery, the recipe box may be disposed of by the courier.
Will the ingredients in my recipe box stay fresh if I am not in?
We pack each recipe box using Woolcool packaging to ensure that your products remain chilled and safe until the evening of the day your recipe box is delivered. After receipt, please store any meat, fish, or vegetables in the fridge until you are ready to cook. Please note that any meat or fish products need to be cooked on the day of receipt.
Can I track my recipe box?
You will receive tracking details from the courier, with which you can monitor the progress of your delivery.
How do I skip a delivery?
If you are going on holiday or would like to skip a delivery login to your Japan centre fresh account, and select your subscription. You will then see a delivery schedule of your upcoming deliveries. Click on “Skip Delivery” for the one that you wish to skip.
How does my subscription work?
Our subscriptions come in standard, vegetarian and family packages, with the choice of 2 servings or 4 servings per meal. Family subscriptions are only available in 4 serving sizes. Subscriptions are auto-renewed and dispatched every 2 weeks after your initial delivery, on the same day of the week.
Is there a minimum subscription period?
Japan Centre Fresh is for those who wish to experience authentic Japanese cuisine in their own home. There is no minimum subscription period. You can order just one recipe box and cancel straight afterwards, or enjoy great Japanese cuisine for as long as you want. The decision is up to you.
When is payment processed for my recipe box?
Payment will be taken the day before dispatch.
One/Some of my ingredients aren’t in the best quality
Please contact us as soon as possible after receiving your recipe box by calling us at 020 3405 1151 or by emailing us at enquiry@japancentre.com Sending pictures will also be helpful. We can see how the items were packed and determine what went wrong, so we can better assist you and resolve the problem.
Which ingredients do you assume I have at home?
Japan Centre Fresh aims to provide you with all you need to cook an authentic Japanese meal at home, but there are a few basic ingredients that we assume you will already possess. These include:

  • Sugar
  • Black Pepper
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Flour
  • Butter
  • Milk

We have received a top rating of 5 stars from the Food Standards Agency in the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) which means we have ‘very good’ hygiene standards.
