This fun papercraft features paper and instructions to make two Hina Matsuri dolls, along with a stand and traditional folding screen to display them with. The instructions for this project are in Japanese, but feature clear, easy to understand pictures to guide you in making your dolls. For this project you will need scissors, a craft knife, ruler and glue. The finished dolls are roughly 19cm high and take around an hour to complete.
Hina Matsuri is a traditional Japanese festival dedicated to girls. Held on the 3rd of March every year, families with girls will often display elaborate dolls made to represent an ancient Japanese court with Emperor and Empress.
