Background

Chazuke is an incredibly old traditional meal, dating back to the Heian era almost 1000 years ago! Often eaten when you are feeling ill due to its subtle flavours and warming nature, just as you would pour milk over cereal, here you pour tea over boiled rice and top with furikake or pickles for a flavoursome and healthy meal.

How To Use

To make authentic tasting chazuke:
• Add approx. 100g of warm boiled rice into a bowl.
• Add 1 sachet of chazuke seasoning on top of the rice.
• Finally, pour in approx 150ml of boiling water. Mix lightly and serve!
