These individually sealed rectangular ‘kiri’ mochi rice cakes are made with 100% glutinous mochi rice and contain no added preservatives for a natural tasting, fresh and healthy snack. When cooked mochi is a plump, soft and extremely sticky snack or recipe ingredient.

Background

Mochi is a traditional Japanese sticky rice cake made by pounding a sweet glutinous rice into a paste. It is a popular form of rice in Japan, especially at New Year and can be eaten plain, in soups or with a sweet filling of azuki sweet bean paste. Be careful when you eat it as it’s seriously chewy!

How To Use

This mochi can be prepared in a number of different ways.
• Grill for a few minutes until it starts to brown. Sprinkle with soy sauce or sugar.
• Boil in hot water until it becomes soft.
• Remove all packaging, place in a bowl of water and microwave for approx. 2 minutes.
• Keep refrigerated after opening.
