A speciality of Hiroshima in Southwestern Japan, this oyster soy sauce is made with naturally brewed honjozo soy sauce and given an extra umami kick with infused oyster essence. Delicious in any dish you would usually use soy sauce, it really comes into its own in chilled tofu, stir fries or simmered dishes where the oysters special umami flavour can be soaked up!


Soy sauce is usually made from fermented soy beans, wheat and brewer’s alcohol and has become the basic sauce for all Japanese cuisine due to its rich, umami taste.

How To Use

Oyster soy sauce is really versatile and adds flavour to a wide range of dishes.
• Use as a sauce for Hiyayakko Chilled Tofu or egg on rice.
• Dilute in a 1:10-15 ratio to create a stock for hot pots.
• Use instead of ordinary soy sauce when simmering or stir frying vegetables and meat.
