A plastic wrapped packet of 0 kcal shirataki noodles in fresh water. These are made from the konjac yam plant and have a gelatinous consistency. Shirataki noodles have a chewy, almost crunchy texture but little flavour of their own, this is why they are a popular ingredient in richer dishes such as sukiyaki where they soak up the flavour of the sauce. A great diet aid.

Shirataki literally translates into “white waterfall” as the fine, white strands resemble the spray of a waterfall. Shirataki noodles are extremely healthy, low fat, low calorie noodles and are sometimes referred to as ‘Miracle’ noodles. Why not swap your regular egg noodles for them?
